Dutailier was founded in 1976 in St-Pie, a small town located 45 minutes from Montreal, Canada. At the time, the company was manufacturing wood components and furniture, including a few models of glider rockers. Through the years, Dutailier has also had in its product assortment, living room and bedroom furniture collections. A decision was made in 1988 to concentrate all of the corporate activities in becoming a leader of the glider rockers segment. From then on, Dutailier was able to concentrate all of the R&D activities to the development of innovations that would ensure a better integration of the product concept in the lifestyles of selected target groups.

A decision which allowed Dutailier to become a leader of the North-American and European markets with more than 4 million chairs manufactured to date. The company now owns 6 production facilities and has risen to a prime position amongst the furniture manufacturers in America, Europe and Asia.

In 2003, E.G. Furniture, a company specializing in the manufacturing of high-quality, wood bedroom furniture for babies, children and teens joined the Dutailier family. For both companies, this acquisition was a natural fit since they both aspired to increase their market presence in North America.

Thus, Dutailier widens its range of products and now manufactures – besides gliding rockers and ottomans that have made their reputation – bedroom furniture which perfectly adapts to children of all ages. Present in more than 15 countries, on 3 continents, the company benefits from an excellent reputation based on the quality and the durability of its products and most of all, its intuition in meeting consumers’ expectations.
